The Best Way To Slow Wrinkles

Normal healthy skin has a beautiful epidermis with a smooth or outer cornified layer which acts as a good barrier against water and ecological damage. Skin color and tone is even and intact. Collagen component (that can help to improve skin firmness), elastin (which gives skin elasticity and rebound) and glycos amino glycans (which keeps the skin hydrated) are all in abundance. It is interesting to note that under a microscope shows a biopsy of a wrinkle no telltale signs that reveal to be a ripple. So what causes the skin to look wrinkled? It is probably a multifactorial process of intrinsic aging and extrinsic aging.

Intrinsic aging is the natural aging process taking place over the years adopted independently of any outside influence. After the age of 20, a person produces about 1 percent less collagen in the skin per year. The skin becomes thinner and more fragile with age. Extrinsic aging occurs in addition to intrinsic aging due to sun and environmental damage (tobacco use and exposure to pollution, for example). see extrinsic aging as a thickening of the cornified layer, changes in precancerous lesions such as actinic keratosis mentioned, skin cancer (including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma in situ melanoma), freckle and sun spot formation and excessive loss of collagen, elastin and GAG's. Alone or together, these methods give the skin the appearance of roughness, uneven tone, brown spots, thin skin and deep wrinkles.
